Planning Application

The site is within Cherwell District Council and planning applications have now been submitted and registered.

The applications are available to view at https://planningregister.cherwell.gov.uk/.

Prior to submitting the applications, we conducted a scoping exercise to ask Cherwell District Council what technical information and documents the council would want to see included.

We are bringing forward independent but complementary planning applications for the two ‘halves’ of the site – ie the plot of land to the west of the A43 and the plot of land to the east of the A43.

Our planning applications respond to the council’s feedback on our scoping request. We have submitted:

• An outline planning application for the land west of the A43 together with infrastructure enabling works
• An outline planning application for the land east of the A43

These planning applications are within the Town & Country Planning Act (TCPA) regime.

Although they will effectively provide vital national economic infrastructure in terms of the logistics activities they will enable, this is a TCPA planning application and not a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP).

This means that Cherwell District Council is the decision-maker and can assess the merits and benefits of our proposals for Cherwell as it determines these applications.
