Axis J10 will provide businesses with the opportunity to invest in Cherwell, create jobs and contribute to the local economy.

As the UK economy evolves and to ensure that Cherwell can secure future investment, Axis J10 will provide the larger unit logistics facilities that are critical for many major occupiers going forwards.

The current and forecast demand for buildings at scale (ie buildings between 350,000 and 1,000,000 sq ft) is significant. Axis J10 will help to bring these valuable businesses to Cherwell.

With the large units proposed, we anticipate around 4,000 new full time jobs could be directly created plus extensive spin off economic gains

The ambition is for a mix of roles and skills – modern logistics operations involve significant knowledge and data-led roles alongside more traditional ones.

Modern logistics occupiers also typically now locate other business functions into their warehouses, increasing the diversity of jobs.

The demand for the facilities we are looking to create isn’t catered for on any other sites in Cherwell at the moment (either allocated or with planning permission). This means that if provision isn’t made here, the investment and jobs will go to a neighbouring authority which can accommodate the demand and seizes the opportunity.
